earthquake and tsunami hit Japan
The Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Red Cross to aid earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan.
Bullock made the donation on behalf of her family.
It's the largest donation made by a celebrity yet in the wake of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that hit the Japan.
“The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from Sandra Bullock and her family,” the organization said in a statement.
In January 2010, the Oscar-winning actress donated $1 million to relief efforts in Haiti after that country was hit by an earthquake.
