Tax exemption of Rs.45 Crore given to International Cricket Council
for world cup 2011 by rich government
The government today approved income tax waiver of about Rs 45 crore to the International Cricket Council for the ongoing World Cup 2011.
When this meeting was held to discuss to give exemption or not to give exemption the meeting was attended by ICC president Sharad Pawar also.
According to Revenue Secretary Sunil Mitra, the total receipts of the ICC from the ongoing World Cup are Rs 1,476 crore, while the cost for organizing the event is Rs 571 crore. The ICC''s revenue from the broadcast rights is estimated to be Rs 1,062 crore.
ICC is very rich organization.
Why government has given them tax exemption?
For Indian citizens you do not have money thus government is planning to remove subsidy from cooking gas.
There is no money for education there is no money for scholarship of students
Still our government is so rich that we are giving ICC tax exemption.
As ICC gave free 250 world cup tickets so government also gave them tax exemption of Rs.45 Crore.
World cup 2011 Final world cup match at Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai and sell of tickets –
Wankhede Stadium can seat 32,000 people. Only 4000 tickets were made available to common Indian citizens.
4,000 tickets for public sale is the same number which was available in the 1996 World Cup
Indian cricket fans have been lining up at 5 am for the last three days to buy a ticket, unaware that sales were only online.
So where are the tickets?

Sold 40 Corporate Box at the price of 3.75 crores for each box which has 15 seats and rents to owners for 10 years.

Reliance Industries Limited has bought three boxes for over 11 crores. – Mukesh Ambani

Other corporate boxes have been sold to Vijay Mallya's Kingfisher, Tata Consultancy Services and Bajaj and Essar
4.
Most tickets were converted into passes.

Clubs affiliated to the Mumbai Cricket Association have got 14,000 tickets

The International Cricket Council got 8,500 tickets

the board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a robust quota of 2000

the Maharashtra government got 250 passes for politicians and govt.officers
As a beggar we take money from British Government as aid and on other hand we behave like uneducated Indians.
When you go to voting remember this and then decide to whom vote in the election.
Never ever vote for king who taxes the poor and who gives exemption to rich people.
Be educated.
If possible do not watch the Final match of world cup.
Not possible then just make a resolution that for next one week I will not purchase the products of companies which will show advertisements during the world cup.
If you do nothing then nothing is going to change in India.
Against this tax exemption it is possible to file a Public Interest Litigation.
I just hope someone will file the PIL against this exemption of Rs.45 crore tax exemption.

Hena's cousin Mahbub Khan came back to Shariatpur from a stint working in Malaysia. His son was Hena's age and the two were in seventh grade together.
Mahbub Khan eyed Hena and began harassing her on her way to school and back
Learning about this poor Hena's father complained to the elders who run the village about his nephew, three times Hena's age.
After few months Mahbub khan raped the Hena.

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja has been convicted for raping his domestic help by a Mumbai court.
Shiney Ahuja had earlier been granted bail by Justice A P Deshpande of Mumbai High Court on October 1, 2009 on a surety of Rs. 50,000 with a condition that he would stay in Delhi and report to the nearest police station regularly.
In 2009 Bollywood Actor Shiney Ahujas 18-year-old maid accused him of rape, when both of them were alone at his flat.
According to her statement to police, Shiney's wife and child had gone out when the incident happened.
The maid was employed at Abuja’s home since 45 days.
But reports mentioned that the complainant (maid) had been working at Ahuja's apartment for nearly a year.
She apparently told the police that she had come for domestic work to Ahuja's flat. The actor's wife was not at home. "He took me into his bedroom, gagged and raped me
The complaint was registered at Oshiwara police station
The actor has been booked under
Section 376 (rape),
Section 339 (wrongful restraint)
And section 506 (threatening to kill the victim) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The medical reports confirm that Shiney is guilty and that his DNA had been found to match the sperm found on his maid’s clothes.
Though the forensic report confirmed that the semen sample taken from maid’s body matches the star’s DNA
The trial was being conducted in-camera before the Sewri fast track court.
In-camera trial refers to a case where the court bars the media from reporting about the case as per section 327 of the CrPC, applicable in cases like rape.
Shiney Ahuja has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
From court, Ahuja was taken to jail.
The rape victim maid turned hostile in the case of Shiney.
Now Sessions Court has issued a notice to maid as to why no action should be taken for having filed a false report," the judge observed while delivering the verdict on March 30.
Sessions judge P M Chouhan pointed out seven circumstantial evidences to nail the actor in the crime that include semen stains on bed sheet and a nail injury on the actor's arm indicating that force was used on the victim.
Now Shiney Ahuja will appeal in the High court against this judgment.
Ahuja made his acting debut with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, which was released in 2005.
Shiney Ahuja has acted in hit films like Gangster, Hazaron Khwaishen Aisi and Woh Lamhe.
He bagged the Kalakar award for ‘Best actor in 2008’ for Khoya Khoya Chand.

Old Basic Monthly pay was Rs.5000 and now the AP politicians will get basic monthly pay of Rs.12, 000.
Old allowances were amounted to Rs. 36.000 and now the AP politician’s legislators will get allowance of Rs. 95,000 per month.
In addition, every politician legislator will get railway coupons worth Rs. 70,000
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), Road Transport Corporation (RTC), Housing Corporation and Girijan Cooperatives will also present
Special gift vouchers to the legislators.
Every member of assembly will get a laptop, printer, scanner, i-Pad and a touch-screen smart phone
The pension of former legislators and legislative councilors has also been increased to Rs.15, 000. This will be Rs. 20,000 for legislators who served two terms and Rs. 25,000
for three terms

Asif Balwa and Rajiv Agarwal are associated with Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd, which reportedly loaned Cineyug a sum of Rs 212 crore.
The Enforcement Directorate submitted its status report on the 2G scam case before the Supreme Court and told the court that telecom companies which were granted 2G licenses entered into benami transactions while bringing in foreign money.
The ED said Telestat had received Rs 106.95 crores as FDI and one share was allotted against this sum.
The directorate added that another company, Unitech, has control of over 353 sister firms of which 32 are based in India and that these need to be investigated.
DB Realty was owned by Shahid Balwa who has a stake in Swan Telecom which is one of the companies named in the 2G scam.
Kalaignar TV in this TV channel Karunanidhi's wife MK Dayalu owns 60 per cent and daughter Kanimozhi owns another 20 percent in the DMK Kalaignar TV channel.

ESPN-Star Sports has the broadcast rights for the World Cup.
The ICC on Monday night barred electronic media from covering the remaining matches.
The spokesman said, this will be applicable to both the semifinals in Colombo and Mohali and the final in Mumbai.
An ICC spokesman said that non-rights holders will no longer be allowed to cover the practice session or the press conferences related to World Cup for not following the code of conduct and the media guidelines, which they had signed for accreditation.
It is believed that at least 40 leading channels will be affected.
It is believed that the breaches have been of a commercial nature; there could be elements of ambush marketing involved with the channels running shows sponsored by companies that are in competition with the ICC sponsors.
the Broadcast Editors' Association (BEA) and the National Broadcasters Association (NBA) have decided to approach the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry on the matter.
BEA President Shazi Zaman has termed the ICC move as arbitrary and an infringement of media rights.

Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates ignored international prohibitions in 2010 and imposed death sentences on individuals that were below 18 years of age when the crimes were committed.
In the USA, the only country in the Americas to carry out executions, at least 110 death sentences were imposed during 2010 but this represents only about a third of the number handed down in the mid-1990s. And in March 2011, Illinois became the 16th state to abolish the death penalty.
In 2010 Amnesty International was not able to confirm comprehensive figures on the use of the death penalty for China, Malaysia, North Korea, Singapore and Viet Nam although executions were known to have been carried out in all these countries.
Available information from five other countries in the region confirmed at least 82 executions were carried out in Asia.
Eleven countries imposed death sentences but continued not to carry out executions in 2010: Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, India, Indonesia, Laos, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The Pacific Islands remained free from death sentences and executions.
In January 2010 the President of Mongolia announced a moratorium on executions with a view to abolition of the death penalty.
After a year’s hiatus in 2009 when for the first time no executions were recorded in Europe and the former Soviet Union, in March 2010 the Belarusian authorities carried out two executions. Three new death sentences were imposed in Belarus in 2010.

In the early days of the solar system, the climates on Mars and the Earth were much more similar than they are now, so life that took hold on one planet could presumably have survived on the other.

An estimated one billion tons of rock have traveled from Mars to Earth, blasted loose by asteroid impacts and then traveling through interplanetary space before striking Earth's surface.
3.
Microbes have been shown to be capable of surviving the initial shock of such an impact, and there is some evidence they could also survive the thousands of years of transit through space before arriving at another planet.
Orbital dynamics show that it's about 100 times easier for rocks to travel from Mars to Earth than the other way.
So if life got started there first, microbes could have been carried here and we might all be its descendants.
In order to detect signs of past or present life on Mars — if it is in fact true that we're related — then a promising strategy would be to search for DNA or RNA, and specifically for particular sequences of these molecules that are nearly universal in all forms of terrestrial life.
That's the strategy being pursued by MIT research scientist Christopher Carr and postdoctoral associate Clarissa Lui, working with Maria Zuber, head of MIT's Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS), and Gary Ruvkun, a molecular biologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University, who came up with the instrument concept and put together the initial team.
Lui presented a summary of their proposed instrument, called the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Genomes (SETG), at the IEEE Aerospace Conference this month in Big Sky, Mont.
Recent Mars orbiter and rover missions have clearly shown that Mars once had abundant water, and many of the conditions thought to be needed to support life.
And although the surface of Mars today is too cold and dry to support known life forms, there is evidence that liquid water may exist not far below the surface. "On Mars today, the best place to look for life is in the subsurface
The MIT researchers' device would take samples of Martian soil and isolate any living microbes that might be present, or microbial remnants (which can be preserved for about up to a million years and still contain viable DNA), and separate out the genetic material in order to use standard biochemical techniques to analyze their genetic sequences.
the team has been developing a device that could take a sample of Martian soil from below the surface — perhaps dredged up by a rover equipped with a deep drill — and process it to separate out any possible organisms, amplify their DNA or RNA using the same techniques used for forensic DNA testing on Earth, and then use biochemical markers to search for signs of particular, genetic sequences that are nearly universal among all known life forms.
The researchers estimate that it could take two more years to complete the design and testing of a prototype SETG device.
Although the proposed device has not yet been selected for any upcoming Mars mission, a future mission with a lander or rover equipped with a drill could potentially carry this life-detection instrument.
No instrument has been sent to Mars specifically to look for evidence of life since NASA's twin Viking landers in 1976, which produced tantalizing but ambiguous results.
An instrument on the Mars Science Lander to be launched in the fall will investigate chemistry relevant to life. The instrument from the MIT-Harvard team directly addresses Earth-like molecular biology.

the team has been developing a device that could take a sample of Martian soil from below the surface — perhaps dredged up by a rover equipped with a deep drill — and process it to separate out any possible organisms, amplify their DNA or RNA using the same techniques used for forensic DNA testing on Earth, and then use biochemical markers to search for signs of particular, genetic sequences that are nearly universal among all known life forms.
The researchers estimate that it could take two more years to complete the design and testing of a prototype SETG device.
Although the proposed device has not yet been selected for any upcoming Mars mission, a future mission with a lander or rover equipped with a drill could potentially carry this life-detection instrument.
No instrument has been sent to Mars specifically to look for evidence of life since NASA's twin Viking landers in 1976, which produced tantalizing but ambiguous results.
An instrument on the Mars Science Lander to be launched in the fall will investigate chemistry relevant to life. The instrument from the MIT-Harvard team directly addresses Earth-like molecular biology.

The comptroller and auditor general (CAG) of India has in its performance audit of service tax on construction services for 2008-09 found evasion at Rs710.24 crore.
The CAG has named Lanco Infratech and Larsen & Toubro for not discharging service tax liability worth Rs62.61 crore and Rs272.66 crore, respectively, received between July 2007 and March 2008 for canal irrigation contracts, treating the projects exempted.
Now CAG has recommended setting up mechanisms for monitoring receipt and scrutiny of returns.
According to the Finance Act 1994, service tax is leviable for construction of residential complexes comprising a building having more than 12 units.
“The condition that service tax is payable only when the construction involves more than 12 residential units helps to small housing construction projects, these projects remain outside the tax net.
This loophole is used by construction companies and they build less than 12 residential units thus they get exempted from paying taxes.
CAG has recommended that the single criterion of 12 units is not enough and other criterion such as selling price or plinth area should be specified so that the expensive constructions come under net

According to documents available with an RTI activist, Sanjay Tiwari,
DB Realty paid Rs. 4 crore to Mumbai Regional Congress Committee chief Kripashankar Singh's son, Narendramohan Singh
On March 18 A Public Interest Litigation PIL was filed in the
Bombay High Court by RTI activist Sanjay Tiwari.
After the PIL was filed this information about 4 crore came into public eye.
The Dynamix Realty paid Rs.4 crore in three installments in 2009.
According to bank documents annexed to a PIL filed in Bombay High Court against the MLA, the statement of Samata Sahakari Bank account in the names of his son Narendra Mohan Singh and daughter-in-law Ankita, showed four deposits made by Dynamix Reality, totaling Rs 4.5 crore during 2008-2009.
The first deposit of Rs 50 lakh was made on August 23, 2008, in the joint bank account of Narendra and Ankita.
The second entry of Rs 2 crore was made on January 1, 2009 in Narendra's account, while the third and the fourth deposits of Rs one crore each (also in account of Narendra) were made on February 10 and 27, 2009 respectively.
The court said, "For instance, in para 9, petitioner has given specific details of bank accounts and mentioned that there were several deposits amounting to Rs 3.3 crores and more than Rs 30 crores were also deposited in the concerned bank accounts.
The total turnover in the said account over a period of two years was about Rs 60 crores. The bank statements are not disputed by Singh and others".
The court noted "When the petition contains serious allegations about inaction on the part of respondents in not taking any action against Kripashankar and his kins and the specific details of bank accounts provided by petitioner, we find it difficult to accept that enquiries cannot be completed in the matter in spite of passage of nine months".
Dynamix Realty has issued a statement in this regard.
The statement is below:
"Dynamix Realty had given a loan to Mr. Narendra Mohan Singh which has been repaid to the company on 12th March 2010."
The Bombay High court has now ordered the Enforcement Directorate,
the Income Tax Department and the Anti-Corruption Bureau
to conduct an inquiry against Kripashankar Singh and submit a report by end of this month.

According to the urban development norms and rules there should be one public urinal per 100 citizens, but the situation in Pune city is different.
In Pune city there is only one urinal for 9100 Pune Citizens.
As per 2008 records Pune got only 352 public urinals for whole city , for all the people of Pune including females.
But the in demolition drives many were damaged or removed thus current accurate number is not available.
But it is guaranteed that the number is below 352 public urinals for whole Pune city.
World is going towards Green, But PMC is planning to install and build Plastic urinals.
PMC had floated a tender for erecting proper urinals two years ago now I do not know exactly what happened to this proposal.
As per the BOT proposal, a private firm will erect the urinals and maintain them on a day-to-day basis in return for advertising rights from the PMC.
Currently Public Interest Litigation that is PIL is pending before the Bombay high court relating to the condition of public urinals in Pune city.

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto occurred on 27 December 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto had just addressed a rally of Pakistan Peoples Party supporters in the city of Rawalpindi when the rally was rocked by a blast.
Bhutto was leaving the rally when the attack occurred.
Gun shots were fired at Benzir Bhutto after a political rally at Liaquat National Bagh, and a suicide bomb was detonated immediately following the shooting.
She was declared dead at 18:16 Pakistan Time at Rawalpindi General Hospital.

Third Report of the Shunglu committee has blamed the Delhi government and its agencies for several delays in key projects.
The Shunglu Panel, Committee found that loss of Rs.900 Crore India Suffered because of
Delays in construction of bridges, flyovers, roads and all other civic infrastructure work.
Rs 159 crore was wasted only for putting up street lights and signages.
Shunglu found that its tenders were manipulated by bidders in collusion with civic agencies.
Civic Agencies like PWD, MCD and NDMC have been blamed for wasting public money worth Rs 700 crore
Shunglu panel has also asked for action against top Brass of MCD, DDA, PWD and Delhi government for all acts of omission and commission.
The Shunglu panel indicted Lt Gov Tejendra Khanna, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and a host of senior bureaucrats for cost overruns, favours to select contractors, exaggerated estimates and a staggering waste of public money.
Regarding Lt Gov Tejendra Khanna Shunglu Panel said
"The responsibility for the various acts of omission and commission which brought 'undue gains' to Emaar MGF primarily lies with LG, Shri Tejendra Khanna, ex-officio chairman of DDA (and other DDA officers)."
The Shunglu panel pointed to the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshits involvement in street lighting contract where three firms bid without inviting tenders with the deal going to a German firm. "Unusual interest was displayed by her.
Imported luminaries were approved by her and competition restricted," the report said.
Shunglu Committee said the imported street bulbs were three times as expensive as domestic ones and caused a loss of Rs 46 crore, not including other agencies like MCD and NDMC.
The Delhi government's signage project was also flawed as paint was already peeling off five months after the Games. "About 50% of contract value or Rs 36 crore appears to be wasteful expenditure designed to provide undue benefit to the manufacturer and contractors," said the Shunglu report. Here, too, it mentioned the CM's approvals.
On undue profits to contractors, the panel noted these amounted to
Rs 52 crore in the Barapullah elevated road,
Rs 47 crore in the Ring Road bypass,
Rs 16 crore in streetscaping,
Rs 63 for street lighting,
Rs 46 crore for signages
And Rs 28 crore in the Rajaram Kohli project.
The report also noted how expenses of Games-related facilities at the trade fair or ITPO were revised from Rs 28.02 crore to Rs 75.77 crore.
The report said, "It is striking that the value of projects assigned to M/s DSC, Afcons and M/s Simplex is roughly of the order of Rs 1,000 crore each.
Overall, five contractors bagged 15 contract packages of PWD, Delhi government and three out of them (Afcons, Simplex, DSC) hogged 11 contracts (sanctioned cost Rs 2,709.94 crore)."

Who is Lokayukta?
Lokayukta – Appointed to tackle Corruption without power.
Delhi Lokayukta last month had recommended sacking of Mr. Chauhan from Delhi
Cabinet for trying to protect Tivoli Garden Resort hotel in the tax evasion case, holding him guilty of “misconduct of grave nature“
Justice Sarin’s order came in a case pertaining to Mr. Chauhan’s alleged involvement in influencing a team of tax officials when they were carrying out a survey at the premises of the resort in south Delhi in February last year.
In the order, Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin recommended to President Pratibha Patil to “withdraw her pleasure” for the Minister to continue in office as he “misused” his official position.
Lokayukta found minister guilty, he recommended sack the minister.
Now what happened in this case, nothing?
If no one is going to obey him, follow his finding and punish guilty then why we are wasting Indian tax payer’s money on finding corruption.
Top officials said the notice has been served on Tivoli Garden Resort hotel asking to pay the amount in the tax evasion case

Who cares and fears Lokayukta?
For me I Think that Lokayukta in India is like a tiger without teeth.
We should make corruption legal in India.
But who will fight in India as everyone is divided on the name of caste and religion.

Who is Lokayukta?
Lokayukta – Appointed to tackle Corruption without power.
Delhi Lokayukta last month had recommended sacking of Mr. Chauhan from Delhi
Cabinet for trying to protect Tivoli Garden Resort hotel in the tax evasion case, holding him guilty of “misconduct of grave nature“
Justice Sarin’s order came in a case pertaining to Mr. Chauhan’s alleged involvement in influencing a team of tax officials when they were carrying out a survey at the premises of the resort in south Delhi in February last year.
In the order, Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin recommended to President Pratibha Patil to “withdraw her pleasure” for the Minister to continue in office as he “misused” his official position.
Lokayukta found minister guilty, he recommended sack the minister.
Now what happened in this case, nothing?
If no one is going to obey him, follow his finding and punish guilty then why we are wasting Indian tax payer’s money on finding corruption.
Top officials said the notice has been served on Tivoli Garden Resort hotel asking to pay the amount in the tax evasion case
The notice has been slapped for evading tax by the resort from the year 2006 to 2010
They have been served a demand notice of Rs. 50 crore today,” a top Tax department official told PTI.
Who cares and fears Lokayukta?
For me I Think that Lokayukta in India is like a tiger without teeth.
We should make corruption legal in India.
But who will fight in India as everyone is divided on the name of caste and religion.
Why should I go on road, he is from Maharashtra, why should I support him he is Jai Bhim?
Why should I support him he is Brahmin?
Thus we sit at home.
This is the reality of India.

Worked for only 9 months, not an old employee.
Khan arrived in November 2007 at Berkeley’s MacArthur Middle School
She supplemented the math curriculum for sixth through eighth grades and helped prepare students for state tests.
Safoorah Khan demanded three weeks off for a pilgrimage to Mecca during the critical end-of-semester marking period.
She was the only math lab instructor.
As she was the only one math lab instructor and a new employee the school district do not allow her holiday for Mecca.
In August 2008, Khan requested an unpaid leave for the first three weeks of December that year.
The district said the leave was unrelated to Khan’s job and not authorized by the teacher union contract, according to court documents. Khan resigned in a letter to the school board.
Then she resigned from her job and went to Mecca.
Both parties are right at this point.
But Justice Department lawyers examined these facts and they found something different.
Justice Department came to conclusion that school district’s decision amounted to outright discrimination against Khan.
They filed an unusual lawsuit, accusing the district of violating her civil rights by forcing her to choose between her job and her faith.
As the case moves forward in federal court in Chicago.
But now here it clearly shows that attempts are made to divide American society between religions.
Tomorrow on the name of religion and faith demand for
Friday holiday will be raised.
Hindus will demand Diwali, Holi and Dasara and many more holidays.
Christians will demand their holidays.
Jews will demand holidays.
In democracy religion should be kept inside home.
Important is faith or education of student?
In a new job who will give you 19 days holiday?
Thus Obama started his Political preparations for the next elections.
Just Indian style.
If this continues I am sure next American generation will suffer just like we Indians.

The Shunglu Committee was formed by the prime minister immediately after the commonwealth games to investigate corruption
The VK Shunglu Committee has submitted its second report to the Cabinet Secretary. The report dealt with corruption in building of the Commonwealth Games Village.
According to Shunglu Committee Report , because of corruption India suffered loss of Rs.220 Crore.
EMAAR MGF, the developers of the games village, indicted for causing loss to the exchequer.
The EMAAR MGF, the developers of the games village sold 333 flats at a higher price. The overall price was hiked from Rs 134 crore to 222 crore.
The Report also found unauthorized payment of Rs.64 Crore to EMAAR MGF.
non-levying of liquidation damages leads to a loss of 81.45 crore
carriage cost of unsold apartments was estimated at Rs 40 crore per annum.
The report also recommended action against EMAAR MGF for acts of omission and commission and has asked for a detailed probe by income tax.
The questions must be asked about why a bail-out package of Rs 728.89 crore was given to EMAAR MGF by DDA.
EMAAR MGF presented a hiked price of Rs 11,000/sq ft instead of the original price of Rs 7,829/sq ft.
The report also fixed the responsibility on following officials who played a key role in determining bail out package for EMAAR MGF. The report also recommended the Government to take action against all public servants named and involved.

Two Years ago Dallas Wiens of Fort Worth a Texas construction worker badly disfigured in a power line accident.
The electrical accident in November 2008 left Wiens (WEENS), blind and without lips, a nose or eyebrows.
He has received Americas first full face transplant at a Boston hospital.
More than 30 doctors, nurses and other staff at Brigham and Women's Hospital led by plastic surgeon Dr. Bohdan Pomahac performed the 15-hour operation last week on 25-year-old Dallas Wiens of Fort Worth, Texas.
Currently he is in good condition in a Hospital.
The transplant was not able to restore Wiens' sight, and some nerves were so badly damaged from his injury that he likely will have only partial sensation on his left cheek and left forehead, the surgeon said.
In Boston, doctors transplanted an entire new face, including a nose, lips, skin and muscles and nerves that animate the skin and give sensation.
Wiens will not resemble "either what he used to be or the donor," but something in between, said Pomahac
The donor's identity was not disclosed nor would the hospital say exactly when the surgery was done for privacy reasons.
The surgery was paid for by the Defense Department; the hospital has a $3.4 million grant from the military for transplant research.
Wiens had no insurance when he was injured; Medicaid covered about two dozen surgeries until his disability payments put him over the income limit.
The new law allowed him to qualify for coverage under his father's plan for the drugs until he turns 26 in May.
Then he'll be eligible to receive Medicare, which covers the disabled

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that the French fighter jets in the skies over Libya are authorized to stop any Libyan jets violating the no fly zone.
French officials confirmed that French fighter jets have been flying over Libya.
Italy has offered the use of seven military bases to help enforce the U.N.-authorized no-fly zone over Libya and protect Libyan civilians from Gaddafi's troops.
Sigonella's size and close proximity to Libya makes it perfect point for any military action.
American F18 will also take part in this action.
In addition to the aircraft already in Italy, Norway said it was prepared to send six F-16 fighter jets to enforce the no-fly zone, but that they wouldn't be operational for five to six days.

But today because of Greed Selfish Humans are cutting trees and forests and on that place we humans are building white cement forest.
Thus we humans are not getting pure air.
Population is increasing and number of tress are decreasing ,
just like mad society people are cutting tress after tress , even they are cutting hills to build a building to earn money.
Co2 is not good for humans but Trees convert Co2 into oxygen which we humans need to survive.
Co2 Level is rising, we are cutting natural converter of Co2 that is trees thus level of Co2 will keep raising.
This will lead to Global warming problems, Acid Rain, respiratory disease many more.
But do not worry now Artificial Trees will do this Job in future.
Researchers at the Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy at Columbia University, led by Dr. Klaus Lackner, have designed a faux tree that is supposed to do the job of a real tree.
That is covert Co2 into O2.
How this Artificial Tree or Machine will work?
The machine designed by Dr Lackner, and Mario Caceres and Christian Canonico of Influx_Studio, is designed to pull CO2 from the air and emit oxygen instead.
The Project is called as the Boston Treepod Initiative
The artificial tree will look like the dragon blood tree.
The dragon blood tree was chosen because of its wide branches and umbrella style of tops that can support the larger sized solar panels that power the tree.
After trial and error they realize that Solar Panel will not be enough to power the Tree, thus they have added 2nd option to the artificial tree.
The groves of tree pods will be pared with hammocks and see-saws that will help to power the devices
If we Humans start to save the trees we won’t need these artificial trees to produce oxygen.

The U.N. vote on Thursday night was 10-0 with five countries abstaining including Russia and China. India, Germany and Brazil
U.S Ambassador Susan Rice said the resolution "should send a strong message to Colonel Qaddafi and his regime that the violence must stop, the killing must stop, and the people of Libya must be protected and have the opportunity to express themselves freely."
The vote came five days after the Arab League called on the United Nations to "shoulder its responsibility" by imposing a flight ban over Libya.
